Business Development Manager, BPT

LOCATION

INTRODUCTION

The Business Development Manager – BPT (Bearings & Power Transmission) builds pipeline and profitably increases revenue through new client acquisition – both proactively and through strategic RFPs (Request for Proposals). Success in this role includes recognizing that we achieve a higher win rate through active collaboration with our members on all net-new sales opportunities. These sales opportunities are typically multi-year supply contracts with large, multi-location clients in the US and Canada. Ideal candidates possess self-starter and entrepreneurial mindsets, with a penchant for developing sales opportunities from first contact through an executed contract. Overnight travel of 25% can be expected.

Builds pipeline through member collaboration and prospective client discovery meetings

Creates sales proposals and responses for all inbound and proactive BPT sales opportunities

Collaborates both internally and externally to develop BPT sales plans and pricing strategies for all prospective clients

Delivers effective client presentations at all stages of the sales cycle

Creates financial models to solicit member buy-in and maximize contract profitability

Attends industry events, leads Steering Committee meetings, initiates marketing campaigns, and leads other initiatives designed to build sales pipeline

Deliverables

Experience

  • 3 – 5+ years of complex sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of selling to multiple stakeholders within a single sales opportunity. 5 years of industry experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidates should be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, communicating effectively (both written and verbal), managing opportunities within a CRM platform, and leading a sales cycle from initial contact through contract signature
  • Ideal candidates should be comfortable with and present themselves well in both face-to-face meetings (usually requiring air travel) and virtual sales conversations
  • Ideal candidates should be flexible self-starters, with the ability to thrive in uncertainty and ambiguity.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
